All Appalachian Wireless phones are completely unlocked, as is, with the exception of the iPhone 4, 4s, and 3G iPhone 5. These devices can be unlocked as well with a call to Appalachian Wireless’ Customer Service Department. If the devices in question have no outstanding balances on them, or aren’t currently under contract. Appalachian Wireless will contact Apple on behalf of the customer to have the device unlocked within five business days, free of charge. Appalachian Wireless does not possess the tools to unlock these devices. Once Apple receives the request it can take up to thirty days before the request is fulfilled.

Notice
Appalachian Wireless does not lock any devices currently, nor do we have any plans to lock future devices. Only older stock devices (iPhone 4, 4S, and 5) could possibly be locked. Please refer to section 1 on how Appalachian Wireless would handle these devices.

Response Time
Within two business days of receiving the request on a qualifying device to be unlocked, Appalachian Wireless will submit the unlocking request to Apple. It can take Apple up to thirty days to respond to the unlocking request.

Deployed Personnel Unlocking Policy
Appalachian Wireless will unlock any device for any deployed military personnel who are in good standing, upon provision of deployment papers.
