Privacy Policy

Appalachian Wireless is dedicated to the protection of your privacy. This privacy policy (i) sets forth basic principles which guide our efforts in maintaining your privacy while providing quality service and (ii) notifies you of what information we collect and how we use it.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND HOW WE USE IT

Transactional Information:

We collect information about your use of the products and services we offer, such as call records, service usage, service options, and other similar information you provide. This information may be used for billing purposes, to deliver and maintain products and services, or to help you with service-related issues or questions. Appalachian Wireless may also use this information for other purposes such as providing you with information about product or service enhancements, determining your eligibility for new products and services, and marketing to you based on your use of the products and services you already have. Additionally, this information may be used to improve services and protect our networks, services, and users from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful uses.

Location Information:

Providing wireless communications requires that certain location information be obtained from your mobile device. Periodically, your mobile device transmits a signal to the nearest cellular tower so calls may be routed to and from you, to ensure you are billed properly, and to more accurately provide you with Wireless Emergency Alerts applicable to your location. In the event you dial 911, your mobile device may automatically transmit your location with more specificity to the responding emergency service. For more information about how disclosure of your location information is limited, please refer to the section below titled “Information We Share.”

Ordering Information:

When you purchase products or services from Appalachian Wireless, we collect information from you that we use to deliver, provide, and bill those products or services and to resolve any issues you may have with your order or with our products or services. The information we collect may include your name, mailing address, telephone number, email address, Social Security number, and payment information. We also use this information to establish your account, maintain a record of the products and services you buy, and maintain billing records. We may use your contact information to inform you about special offers or other products and services.

Customer Service Inquiries:

Your records may be accessed by Appalachian Wireless customer service when you call, text, email, or chat with us to better help you with your inquiry. Interactions with customer service may also be monitored or recorded for training purposes and to provide better customer service.

Information Provided to Us by Third Parties:

We may obtain credit information about you from third parties when you purchase products or services from Appalachian Wireless to help us with customer authentication and credit-related decisions.

Information Collected When on the Appalachian Wireless Website:

Certain information is gathered automatically by Appalachian Wireless when you access our website such as your IP address, referring URL, browser type, operating system, images or files you view, and the date and time the website was accessed. This information may be used for troubleshooting and security purposes.

These vendors are authorized to use your information under the privacy compliance obligations we impose on them.
