What is covered?
Lost, Theft, Accidental Damage, malfunction (after manufacturer's warranty period), Mechanical/electrical failure (after manufacturer's period)
Who is eligible for the program?
Customers can enroll at any time. If a customer enrolls at the same time they purchase new equipment from Appalachian, coverage begins immediately. If coverage is selected after the initial point of sale, no claims can be made under the program for 30 days following the purchase of coverage.
How long does the customer have to file a claim?
Claims must be filed within 60 days of the date of loss/incident
How do I file a claim and retrieve my replacement handset?
There are a couple of ways that a claim van be processed. 1st- Online- go to www.esecuritel.com/appalachian. Click on Claim Center and then click Claim Wizard. Enter your Wireless number and then you are on your way! 2nd- Call 866-249-3186 if you have questions or have a live person assist you with the process. These options will direct you to the nearest Appalachian store to pick up your device.
What paperwork is needed to file a loss?
\In some cases, proof of purchase may be required such as sales receipts, wireless service agreements or the original handset box. In cases where the handset was lost or stolen, a valid police report may be required per the requeset of eSecuritel.
Will the exact type of device be replaced?
A like or comparable model as indicated in the replacement equipment matrix will be proviced as agreed to by eSecuritel and Appalachian. In many cases, the replacement will be the exact model as the original. However, due to inventory availability and end of life models, it is always not possible to replace with the exact make and model.
Why do I have to pay a deductible if I am paying a monthly charge?
Like car insurance; customers pay a monthly reoccuring charge for coverage then are asked to provice a deductible in case of a loss. We are a fully licensed insurance product and operate the same way (check legal).
